Janis Fry
Janis Fry came to Wales from London in 1968, and studied at Bangor University and Swansea College of Art. She is a painting tutor to various art groups and runs a painting holiday in southern Brittany at le Pouldu, where Gauguin lived for 2 years.

During the 80’s she ran an international company producing painted silk gowns and this interest eventually led to watercolour. She also produces paintings in ink and gouache, mixed media and acrylic.
Janis is a specialist in ancient yew trees and a published author and writer on this subject and the yew and the mythology of the Tree of Life, now forms the subject for most of her painting work. ‘The Sacred Yew’ exhibition, shown in Swansea in April 2016 is now a travelling exhibition set to show at venues in Wales and central London.
